Je t’aime…moi non plus

I’m not sure when I’ll get a chance to see the Serge Gainsbourg biopic, Gainsbourg (Vie Héroïque), but I am chomping at the bit.

These stills and film clips are such a tease! Just wonderful. I hope there is a major release soon so I can stop obsessing. In my fantasy, I am going to the screening at the Agde Film Festival this coming Monday, June 21 at Palais des Congrès in Agde, France. A charming seaside town on the Mediterranean and a screening of a movie that embraces an era and individuals etched into my soul??? Yeah. That would be AMAZING. (sigh… swoon… sigh…)

The subjects of this film include several of my personal heroes and I’m anxious to see how they are portrayed on screen. From what I can gather through clips it will be a fun romp through Serge’s tempestuous life and loves and the casting seems to be on the nose. I can’t imagine a better Serge than Eric Olmosnino and Laetitia Costa is a perfect choice in many ways as Brigitte Bardot. Don’t you think?

I love the fiery vitality and passion with which these individuals live their life. I’m excited to see the depiction of Jane Birkin who has, for me, felt like a kindred spirit for the past 15 years.
