the golden rule
I stopped by Golden Rule with some friends a few weeks ago and thought I would share some of the photos from my visit. This new Portland boutique and gallery space opened as a result of the owner, Wynde Dyer’s mother suddenly passing away, leaving her sad and bewildered with a semi truck full of treasures that her mom had hoarded over the years.
I can’t imagine how cathartic it must be for Wynde to sort through her mother’s belongings on a daily basis. I think that it is really inspiring that she has been able to turn this unbelievably heavy experience into self-reflection and then, ultimately, a positive career change. A mother’s troubling and obsessive hoarding has turned into a way for her daughter to support herself while she embraces her new path and lives her own life to its fullest.
Golden Rule is full of an impressive spectrum of curiosities, home decor and vintage fashion. The current artwork up for July is from Natasha Liegel and Lauren Ebaugh. Stop by and scoop up some amazing finds and hear some great stories!

Golden Rule is now open at the fantastic shopping and gallery complex at 811 E. Burnside (go to the back of the building!) in beautiful Portland, Oregon. Keep up with the shop on their blog.

amazing. what a cool story behind it too.
Yay! Thanks so much, Jen! This is so awesome and we are so grateful we want to give you and all your readers 20-percent off all Golden Rule clothing through the end of August! We’ll be switching out our summer whites, boho silks and raw silks, and hot mom denims on Monday to make way for psychedelic and ceremonial garments, and lots of bathing suits and other brightly colored patterns and prints to match the art work of Howard Gillam, plus tons of weird furniture, so it’ll be a whole new space on Tuesday! Come by and well share the love. Xoxo, Wynde Dyer at Golden Rule
