adeline adeline… a very nice bicycle shop
Speaking of bicycle cuteness, my friend recently sent me a link to this sweet shop, Adeline Adeline, in Manhattan. They specialize in the kind of European city bikes that I always covet. I haven’t dropped the cash for a new bicycle yet, because I always go back to Stratford-upon-Avon’s classic English country bicycle, the Pashley Princess Sovereign. Surprisingly, I haven’t found anyone in Portland that carries the bike for me to try out! I can’t make the leap without finding out if the fit is right, unfortunately. I’ve also been looking around to find a local shop who carries the Abici Grandturismo Donna, but I’m still on the hunt. For now, I will just ogle and pine, as usual…

AH! I totally want the Pashley. I actually had a chance to buy one but could only afford the Pashley Princess and because of NYC-ers they’d only exported a ton of Sovereigns and the prices were going up because in other parts of the country there is a bicycling “season” whereas in PDX we bike all year round.
I’m hoping now to be able to afford a sweet bike in the off season. They are going to start importing Bella Ciao to the U.S. as well and that is pretty exciting.
I really wish we had a shop like Adeline, Adeline here in Portland!!
