I’m looking forward to getting a little dressed up to attend the Belle & Sebastian concert at The Schnitz in a few of weeks. What could be more romantic than B&S on a crisp October evening at a beautiful, 1928 concert hall? Their new album, Write About Love, comes out in the US on October 12. I’m really looking forward to hearing what they’ve been working on. Aside from the BBC Sessions, they haven’t put out a record or toured since March of 2006!

More of my favorite Scots are coming through in October–a veritable Scottish invasion! Teenage Fanclub is playing with Superchunk at Wonder Ballroom on October 15 and The Vaselines are there as well, on October 24. There are also some wonderful non-Scots performing, including James and Ed Harcourt who play together on October 8. This is the way it always seems to be, absolutely nothing and then a gorgeous downpour! Yet another reason to love this time of year. Autumn always steps in and makes everything better.

If you adore Belle & Sebastian, I very much recommend their DVD, Fans Only. It came out a few years back and it has so much amazing footage, interviews, stills and, of course, their lovely videos. My copy has gotten a lot of wear over the last few years and I think it is well worth the money, but you can also find it on Netflix.
