I love these beautiful handcrafted leather shoes and bags by Brooklyn-based designer Alya B. Kazakevich for her company, a.b.k. Custom Leather Craft. I read about the designer back in February in this charming post by Christine Muhlke for The Moment.

Her handmade work is so stunning! I’m really looking forward to stopping by Alya’s workshop retail space in Chinatown next time I’m in New York! a.b.k Custom Leather Craft, 105 Henry Street (between Pike and Rutgers) T: (646) 479-6035

I’ve been a fan of abk custom leather ever since I stumbled on her site through the “if-I-owned-a-boutique” blog (nanashi, the author, is also to blame for my billykirk and rachel comey obsessions). Ms. Kazekevich makes such beautiful things! I wish her well– she’s starting to get more and more attention, richly deserved from what I can see! I would love to hear a detailed report if you get a chance to visit her workshop. :)

Leanne–I’ll check out that blog sometime. I’ll definitely report back after I make it into Alya’s shop.
