Coconut Lemon Saffron Sorbet

Back in April, I grabbed a carton of this sorbet from Fifty Licks at the grocery store to take to our friends’ house. Life has not been the same since. It might be sorbet, but it is the best non-dairy ice cream that I’ve ever had. I actually got up from the table after a few bites to read the box to make sure it was really vegan. Sorry about the blurry cellphone photo.

I’m not sure how far they’ve cast their wholesale net yet, but Fifty Licks is a Portland company stocked locally at New Seasons and Whole Foods. Pick some up!! There is also an ice cream truck at the food cart pod on 43rd & Belmont. They have a vegan passion fruit flavor at the cart that I can’t wait to try!

The bar for vegan ice cream just got raised really, really high!

    Ok ok I will have to go find this stuff! I have always said Purely Decadent Chocolate Peanut butter is the best. And have made lots of dairy eaters put it at number one on there favorite “ice Cream” list. So I am up for the challenge! I’ll get some tomorrow. Can’t wait.

    Agreed. I am going through withdrawals now without it. I will probably end up making tubs and tubs of it trying to perfect the recipe, since I live in Las Vegas.
