Sweetheart of the Rodeo

How cute is this filly?? I don’t follow many outfit blogs, but I was so happy when I found Dakota and her blog, Sweetheart of the Rodeo. Dakota has amazing style and a nostalgia that makes her seem well beyond her 18 years. I think she is clever and sincere… and for me–I am so happy to find women in their teens, like Dakota, who find inspiration from things like The Carter Family, Buster Keaton, antique millinery, The Byrds, Aqua Net and The Dust Bowl of the 1930′s.

Maybe its because I had the same romantic disposition and nostalgia for a time before I was born when was as a teenager–and I guess I still do! It makes me so happy to read about the music Dakota loves and the old movies that I fell head over heels for at her age too. Because of the internet, things are so accessible so quickly. Young folks don’t have to dig and learn like you used to, so it’s great to find people taking time to delve into the history behind what they really love.

Go see Dakota at Sweetheart of the Rodeo for more outfits and thrift scores.
