my favorite thing right now in the shop is: vintage 1950s Rose Marks the Spot dress

I love the 50s–anything with a nipped-in waist is right up my alley. :)

I’ve never shopped at Dear Golden Vintage before, but there are definitely a few things I wouldn’t mind having in my closet! I’d say on the top of my list is the Slouchy Stripe boyfriend shirt – http://www.etsy.com/listing/78414875/vintage-slouchy-stripe-boyfriend-shirt. It would work perfectly with most of my outfits, and I adore the pinstripe. Also the 1960s Daisy Mums scarf is just a must-have http://www.etsy.com/listing/78096182/vintage-1960s-daisy-mums-scarf. Love those both.
The 20’s would probably be my favorite, because of the body types that the clothes were made for. The rest of the decades, except maybe for the Twiggy era, just don’t work out for my boyish body type no matter how much I like them. So, since I usually try to accommodate my body type, I wouldn’t mind wearing those cute flapper dresses that just kind of hang off the shoulders. I already have a few of those anyway.

Oh my gosh.. This is the best giveaway ever!

Ive been drooling about Dear Goldens vintage for awhile, its almost impossible to pick just one favourite item.

I would choose this one i think: 1950s Lunar Phase cotton dress

I love the 50s- the women were so pretty and i love the full skirts from that era.

  4. Meg says:

I love Lauren’s shop. Every time I open my computer, I always have to check her blog and store. She has amazing stock and I wish I could one day browse her store for real! While I love the dresses and I have a couple of favorites, I must say that I’ve been eyeing this John Romain handbag ever since it was listed. Here is the link…

I think its perfect for the summer and might even transition well into fall.
As for my favorite era, I’d have to go with the 50s. The clothes are all beautifully structured and so feminine!

  5. Jesse says:

I love this dress! Late 50s early 60s is my favourite era; I like the way the clothes fit me. They always seem cut to be tight in the right places, and loose in the right places.

  6. Greta says:

It’s so hard to choose a favorite from this shop, everything is so lovely! In the end though I had to go with this:

It’s just so pretty and feminine and the 1930’s is definitely my favorite era for fashion! I love the silohettes and fabric choices and find these to be the most flattering on me as well.

  7. Caitlin Rose says:

Ok so my favourite item from the shop, and this was hard because there are a lot of lovely clothes, is the 1920s Drawn Voile dress.

And to follow that, although I love a LOT of eras (including the late 18th century) I would have to say that my absolute favourite era is the 1920s. I just think that the designers of the 20s had so much imagination, a drop waisted dress! it’s a complete departure from all clothing that came before it. And all the clothes from that time period seem to have little tucks, and pleats, and folds in all these funny places. and don’t even get me started on the beading. They had the skills to make couture clothing, but the technology to mass produce it (well not like today). I also think they really got a good handle on how much masculine and feminine should be together in one outfit. So yea, I suppose that is all my reasons for loving the 20s, but just so that I don’t hurt the feelings of the 1930s and 1940, I have to admit that they were pretty amazing too.
One day I would actually like to specialize in the construction of 1920s replicas. but for now, I’ll stick to cotton shorts and blouses : )

oh sorry, It seems that I should have included the link for the dress, here it is..

  9. i love so many of the dresses in the shop! The Delphinidin Rose is one of my favorites.

I love the full-skirt dresses from the 1950s era: they’re super flattering and romantic. most importantly, you can also MOVE in them! i can twirl and swish, sit like a sailor, and even plop down on the floor with my preschool class without having to worry about flashing anyone :)

Yayy!! I love Dear Golden. One of my fave things in the shop is that John Romain tweed handbag. I’d transition that baby straight into fall!!

I have to say my fave decade is the 70s – the big shoes, bell bottoms, long hair and the fact that everything could be handmade and still be in style…. My mom always made everything but her levi’s – and trust me, she looked awesome.

oh and I don’t have twitter, but I did blog about this!

First Off I have to say what a GREAT giveaway! And I have always been inspired by the 1920’s flapper girl styling but ever since I saw Christina Hendricks on mad men I have been drawn to 1950/1960 styling. Because of that I was drawn to the Vintage 1950’s bee’s Wing Lace Dress. And It also would also look great with my red hair ;)

  12. Stella says:

I absolutely loved the 1950s antique vintage Cotton dress.
For me it’s so daring, certainly out of my comfort zone. If I saw that dress in a store I would buy it in a heart beat. I love the 50s vintage feel in clothes. I would just like a sailor to come up to me and kiss me on the cheek. Also GREAT give away

  13. Bryce says:

The sale 1950s Chances Are swimsuit is so cool!

My favorite part about the sixties is the variety in fashion. You could be super girly in fancy dresses and heels. Or wear pants and a sweater on the tom boy side of things.

  14. Nicola says:

At the moment in the shop I really love the Colourblock linen dress and jacket (http://www.etsy.com/listing/76342328/vintage-1980s-colorblock-linen-dress-and). I live in Australia and summer is coming soon-ish, so I’ve been eyeing off anything bright especially orange and yellow! Even though it’s only just “vintage”, I love the 1980s because they were so nuts. So over the top. I don’t like minimalism haha. I wish people wore so many bright and crazy things nowadays! Whenever I go op-shopping I go straight for the craziest, shiniest thing in the shop and love it. So I guess it’s 80s for me :)

  15. Dani Lee says:

Jen, you have such wonderful giveaways! I really love reading your blog, thank you!

My favorite thing in the shop (though it is quite tough to choose) is this sweet little 1940s blouse. So adorable!

My favorite era in vintage is post WW2 1940s / Swing Era in fashion.
The juxtaposition of the lingering wartime influences (like nautical style, love!) and America’s eagerness to reintroduce softness into the women’s silhouette is, to me, the sweet spot in fashion history.
This is also the time period that Christian Dior released the “New Look” collection, and the significance of his designs historically in fashion (especially the whole 1950s silhouette) is incredible. As a costume design student it’s fascinating how one designer can change and entire era of fashion so dramatically!

  16. Michi says:

Best giveaway ever! I love this 1950’s Equipoise dress: http://www.etsy.com/listing/78604765/1950s-equipoise-stripe-cotton-dress

My favorite era is the 1950s. I love the intermix of lady-like elegance and the start of menswear-inspired sportswear for women. The silhouettes during this era are absolutely extraordinary. My particular favorite is the full-skirted dresses for day wear and the hour-glass styled suits.

  17. Brighton says:

    I love DearGolden & I love this!: http://www.etsy.com/listing/74853525/vintage-1950s-bees-wing-lace-dress

My favorite era is the 1940s. I love how modest the dresses and the rise in waistline.

  18. Andi says:

Love everything Lauren has, but today’s favorite is the 20s bright young thing flapper dress! favorite era? lately i’ve been loving the late 30s/1940s swing dresses. the hats and shoes from that period are amazing also!
