I LOVE LOVE LOVE your blog – but sometimes I think it should be titled “Sail Away to SKINNY.” I’d love to see more clothes and lingerie and things that REAL WOMEN with REAL curvy bodies might actually be able to wear! *wistful*

Yeah. I’d like to be able to wear everything I blog about–even the children’s clothing. There aren’t a ton of designers who make larger sizes and even fewer whose work and/or styling that I like enough to blog about, so this is why you don’t see more of it on my blog. My sponsor Alyson Clair makes “larger sizes” and I’ve written about a lot of independent designers who do custom work. I also consider ALL women ‘REAL WOMEN’! This blog is about the design that I come across and really love (as well as is photographed in an especially nice way), regardless of size. I’d love to see more companies embracing all sizes and ethnicities!

I have to second this response! I’m a skinny woman with no curves and it’s actually NOT a choice. I’d love to have some curves, but it ain’t happening without plastic surgery. ‘Real women’ come in all shapes and sizes and my body is as real as the next person. I think we can agree that the fashion world is only showing a narrow range of bodies (and skin tones for that matter) and they should definitely expand to be more representative of their customers, but dismissing skinny women is non-women is not the solution. It’s just as hurtful as the industry dismissing women who don’t fit their ideal.
