Beauty with Bria!
Bria here from online boutique, Le Train Bleu. I got so excited reading about Jen’s favorite Whipped Shea Butter that I thought it would be fun to share some of my own favorite beauty products. (Editor’s note: WE USE THE SAME RANDOM LIP BALM!)

Pears Soap, since 1789. It’s the oldest registered brand in the world and holds the Queen of England’s warrant. I can’t live without this soap. I’m addicted to the lather which has ample creamy suds but is not drying and not filmy. I’m addicted to the old-school druggist look that a big stack of these gives to my bathroom. I’m addicted to the medicinal smell which is like something your grandpa would make you gargle with when you were coming down with a cold. Okay, not really selling it with that one. Anyway, it’s good stuff. And I buy it at my local dollar store.

Le Metier de Beaute is a newish mega-expensive brand of makeup and skincare that costs so much you will be sure it is made out of unicorn horn and personally blessed by Cate Blanchett. I bought a few of their lipsticks last year when I was pretending to be a rich person and I have to say, the “Colour Core Moisture Stain” is pretty magical. First off, China Beach red is a Siamese twin of cool and warm red, deep and rich. It feels moisturizing but not gloopy. And they didn’t lie about the long-lasting part.

I’m not that into nail polish but I do admire well groomed hands and shiny fingernails. I use this baby on my toes and fingers when I remember. It’s crazy shiny. No joke–the product is actually called Revlon Crazy Shine Nail Buffer.

And here’s another great nail product for lazy people. Or people who don’t own nail polish remover. I’m both. Sula peelable nail polish. I have the Merlot color which plays into my 30’s film actress fantasies.

What else will you find in my medicine chest? I always have a metal tube of L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream around, especially in the Winter. And I just noticed that they have a new Limited Edition Shea Butter Collection in the “colors and scents of Africa”. What pretty packaging.

I’m always looking for that perfect blush that makes me look like I’ve just come in from a Winter walk on the English moors. Here’s the trick. The color looks kind of unnatural in the tube but don’t be scared. I have a few of these Tarte Cheek Stains but this color is my favorite.

And finally, I have some great news to share with you. Your lips will never be dry again! Provided you use Mode De Vie Shea Butter Lip Balm. It’s not pretty, which I think is a fairly serious sin when it comes to beauty products, but you will overcome it just like I did because you will be deeply in love.
