A Lovely Being: Heavy Petting

Hello! I’m Fallon Elizabeth from the blog, A Lovely Being!

I’m a big fan of Jen’s blog (girlfriend’s got great taste!) and am so excited to guest blog while she’s gallivanting about New York. While I was researching for this post, I came across a polish proverb: “The greatest love is a mother’s; then a dog’s; then a sweetheart’s.” It’s so true, isn’t it? I am the world to my little dog (a larger Yorkie who was literally mistaken for pregnant today) just because I take care of her. And though she’s tons of trouble and likes trash, I adore her.

To celebrate the unconditional love of man’s best friend, I pulled some photos of my favorite old Hollywood starlets showing off their canines. Don’t they look so happy? I mean really, you couldn’t ask for a better Valentine :)

  5. Thanks for having me, Jen! Sidenote: though the photo of Frida and her little deer doesn’t quite go with the theme, it was too sweet to ignore : )

  6. This is so true! I once had a dalmation (the cutest thing ever!) and that connection between her and I was like none other, not even a boyfriend. I had to to tell my boyfriend (when I had one) how I was feeling but with a Kate, my dalmation, she knew when I upset, sad, happy, anxious, etc.

I love these. The photo of Lucille Ball — I once had a part-colored cocker spaniel like the one she’s holding. Makes me remember that I’ve had so many good times with my pooches (and now kitties). I wish I had more photos though.
