Friday!

Some of you asked for my thoughts on the Ballet Beautiful DVDs I got, so I thought I’d give you an update. I think the main thing for me is taking time to pause the workout to stretch for a lot longer than she does in the videos. Also, stretching a bit before I even put the DVD on! I seriously thought I was pretty flexible, but this is making it clear that I have a ways to go. So, I’d say don’t feel bad if you’re like, “WHAT?? I am so not made of rubber bands like this agile ballerina.” I love that it is quiet and she speaks clearly. There’s a lot to work up to–which is great. Anyone else been trying Ballet Beautiful out? I was kind of disappointed in those Ballet Beautiful DVDs… they were just kind of boring! If I’m going to spend an hour working out I want to get really sweaty and really fatigued, not feel vaguely bored and distracted throughout. I figure they’re a good supplement to a harder workout schedule (1 or 2/week for flexibility and core strength, skipping swan arms completely). They’re beautiful, that’s for sure… but man, ZZZzzZzZZZzzz
Most exercise makes me feel bored, I guess. For me, I needed something to make me stretch out and lengthen my muscles without obnoxious music to supplement my elliptical workouts at home. I just don’t love exercising, really! Ha.
I do the bar method DVDs- excluding the arm workouts because they hurt my back. I feel they really change your body in a short amount of time. I think I pinched a nerve in my leg because of insufficient stretching- good on you for being aware that you need to stretch more!
Good to know! Yes–it is easy to forget how important stretching is!
