My New Bike!

Hello! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Remember when I mentioned that I was planning on getting myself a celebratory present for my good news? Well, I got her this weekend! For years I’ve admired the beautiful Pashley Princess Sovereign bicycles and I’m thrilled to finally have my dream bike to ride our flower-lined streets. And the powder blue helmet I suspected I might end up with. YAY!
It feels really good and I feel kind of… well, triumphant, to have done this for myself. Plus, it is a very sturdy machine! I think this bike is going to last me for a very long time. If you live in Portland and you’re interested in Pashleys–I recommend making sure to work with Simon at Universal Cycles. He’s so helpful, clever and full of amazing tips about these bikes.
Anyone else out there have a Pashley? I’d love to hear any pointers! I’d also love to hear about nice bike accessories from all the bike lovers out there.

Congrats! I always have major Pashley envy when I see one go by.
Thanks! I’m so excited.
beautiful! so nice to have something you’ve yearned for for a long time and finally be able to have it.
Yep. :)
So beautiful – congratulations! Now we just need action shots down the flower-lined streets. Sounds so dreamy!
Thanks! I’ll have to get better at riding before I can take photos and ride at the same time–hahaaa…
That’s a sweet bike. I’m looking for a vintage-inspired cruiser bike myself. It’s a little harder to find in Fargo unfortunately.
Maybe if you ever go down to the Twin Cities? Might be easier?
Congrats on your new ride! Hopefully we’ll ride past (or along side) each other this summer! xo
Let’s do it! xo
Love the new ride! It has a very Dutch aesthetic- 90% of the bikes here look just like it (mine included). :) xoxo
Yes–I love the classic Dutch bikes as well!
hey jen! looks awesome!
how did you get that pink around your photos? i would love to know the technique :)
Thanks! Oh–I just played with colors and brushes in Photoshop until I liked it. I wish I could remember exactly! Just play.
Congrats! Oh how I LOVE that bike! You inspired me to post about my ’64 Raleigh that I fixed up to be as Pashley-esque as possible!
YAY! Bike love. It looks amazing, Shannon! So cool.
I have this bike in the green, I love it! I have taken off the basket, added a cup holder, swapped the handle grips for the Brooks large leather ones, and swapped the pedals for metal ones with Brooks toe straps. I hope you enjoy yours :)
Oooh! Now I want all the pretty upgrades, too! :)
A beautiful triumph! I love the Pashley (a very sturdy and gorgeous machine!) and really want one, but I already have three very nice bikes.
Thank you! :)
