These are new pieces from Autoctona by Portland-based, Italian jewelry designer, Alessandra Murgia. I especially like her copper bronze stacked rings in triangles, circles and squares. Here’s what she told me about her new collection, Nocturama:
“My new collection, Nocturama, was born from the desire of creating contemporary reinterpretations of the amulet and from my fascination with symbols, magic and rituals. I spent a great deal of time researching different cultures and traditions to find myself back to the culture of my native island, Sardinia.
My desire was also to use the graphic symbols in a more powerful way, creating pieces such as thin slice, eye hand tooth, the stack and the ring-cuff. These pieces combine solely the graphic symbols and the primary geometric shapes of the triangle, square and circle.” –Alessandra Murgia, Designer of Autoctona
