Cavalcade!

Here’s an avalanche of things I’ve been admiring. I started this whole Cavalcade! idea back in April and have been super sucko at keeping up with it–seeing as how this only the second one. I’ll try to do better. I find so many fantastic things to share, but there is just never enough time in the day. This Cavalcade! turned out to be kind of a black and white edition!

I love this photo by Anja Verdugo. It’s a dreamy outtake from her Yo Vintage shoot.

This photo by Kevin Tachman from the 2010 CFDA Awards is stunning.

This photo from Bliss Lau FW2011 is so beautiful. Photo by Eric Guillemain.

I love Jason Spaceman AND the new Spiritualized record. Photo by Gregg Greenwood.

I love beatnik Maggie Smith… with a mullet. Photo by Ida Kar.

This lady’s outfit is so incredible. More HERE. Photo by The Seeberger Brothers.

Yum! Coffee and vanilla lollies from the Vintage Confections shop.

Love this tightrope blouse by Alexandra Grecco with Giant Dwarf’s Starlette Crown.

I love Claire Pestaille’s artwork. This collage is titled The Fortune Teller.

Stanley Kubrick’s photos of NYC are wonderful. This is from a 1940s LOOK magazine.

I’m still admiring the chalk lettering by Dana Tanamachi!

I love this beautiful portrait by artist, Lauren Gray.

Maggie Smith! I saw her speak once in Denver. She was tiny and swore like a sailor. During her talk, she recounted the first time she met Jack Kerouac. Kerouac agreed to dance with her because she loved dancing and Neal would always refused. Smith recalled how on the dance floor, Kerouac whispered to her, “you know, it’s a real shame kid, but Neal saw you first.” I’ll always remember that.

Marika!! You just made my day–or month, really. That makes me so happy! I love Kerouac and have had dreams with him in them. You’ll have to tell me more sometime!! xo
