Ink & Peat Giveaway!
Today’s giveaway from Ink & Peat is a fun one! Since they are based in Portland, I was able to stop by Pam’s shop and gather up fun things for you that I love AND snap the photos. I think I did pretty well–I want everything, too! Ha. I go to Ink & Peat for the prettiest flowers, gifts and housewares–it’s a dream!

I enjoy the most snow-white tulips, which I receive every year for my birthday in March. They’re fresh and delicate, yet they’re the first breath of spring and new year of life.
I love the shop! My favorite flowers are sunflowers and all pink flowers. Its my favorite color and think all pink flowers are beautiful!
Hydrangeas. My grandmother used to grow them in her garden when I was a kid and they always take me back to those memories.
Peonies make me so very happy.

Daffodils (jonquils) make me happy and fill me with a sweet sense of nostalgia, since my mother always grew them on the side of my childhood home.

Flowers that always cheer my day are tulips mixed with lily of the valley — let’s me know spring has arrived!
I love so many flowers, but a rosebush probably makes me the happiest.

I love color, so a huge bunch of gerbera daisies always makes me happy.
I can enjoy the fragrance of Paper Whites in the winter and the Japanese rose in the summer.
What lovely gifts! I am a peony girl, too. Big, overblown romantic.
I’ve always loved tiger lilies, those orange flowers that are bursting into bloom on the side of the road during the summer.
And poppies always make me think of the time I spent in France. *sigh* lovely.

It was my birthday yesterday and my old college roommate surprised me with a huge bouquet of dahlias, made all the more touching by the fact that she remembered they are my favorite. This giveaway is awesome btw, thank you!
I’m going to have to say Irises. The different varieties amaze me. Not to mention they hold sentimental value for me-they were my late grandmother’s favorite and I remember helping her plants bulbs and care for them when I was younger : )

So hard, flowers, especially fragrant ones that can stop you in your tracks, fill the air, and intoxicate you with each breath, all demand equal love and props. This was the case on my first trip to Maine where wild roses hug the cliffs overlooking the crashing waves below. Or every year when my stroll through the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens takes me through the blooming wisteria that winds its way around the trellised walkways. Flowers rock!

I love this shop! My favorite flowers are dahlias, poppies, and peonies.
Zinnias are my favorites! Every year my husband plants masses of them for an old fashioned cutting garden. I am able to keep our home filled with fresh flowers right into the fall. Thanks for the great giveaway. Love your blog!
My favorite flower is the gardenia. My grandfather grew them in his yard in North Carolina, and every childhood summer when we’d come to stay for two weeks there would be a freshly cut blossom in everyone’s room, perfuming the whole visit. I can’t smell them now without thinking of him.
i love poppies, they are so bright and vibrant and soo delicate. just perfect!
I love peonies as well, but am also obsessed with anemones, they are so beautiful, especially the blush color with black centers.

It’s difficult to choose a favorite flower… I love hellebores because they bloom when nothing else does – peonies are the essence of spring – sweet peas are the smell of summer. Ah, I adore flowers!
My favorite flowers are blooming right now! I absolutely love dahlias in all colors, but especially the orange/pink/coral ones. Zinnias come in a close second. Thank you!
When Daphne starts blooming, I’m filled with childish glee! With the headiest, most magnificent of scents, one whiff of this flower is like a one way ticket back to the early years of boarding school, where I would sneak past the window of the headmistress’s office to break little sprigs of Daphne off to perfume my dorm. For me, these tiny pink and white flowers represent magnetic ladylike allure with a hint of roguish charm thrown in for good measure. A winning combination, really.

peonies + baby’s breath. i read a book recently about the language of flowers and i find the whole secret of floral language very romantic. babys breath is most commonly linked to bliss and peonies are either good fortune or secrets/shame. when played hand in hand, they make quite an irresistable little duo. x
I am an old fashioned girl, and love lilacs. I won’t let my husband cut down the lilac bush on the corner of our house, even though it’s in the way.
