Babington House
I’ve been daydreaming about staying at this beautiful Somerset property, Babington House. I want to wander the 18 acre estate and manor house, visit the cowshed spa, swim in the lovely outdoor pool, play tennis, read in the library, play croquet, have a perfect cocktail and collapse on a big bed piled high with pillows. More about Babington House.
I haven’t spent any time in England outside of Heathrow airport and I’d really love to go. Actually, I haven’t spent any time in the UK at all–which is strange because I grew up in a family with a lot of Irish pride (County Mayo), have an English countryside fixation, Cornwall dreams, haunted Scottish castle fascinations and a lot of other moony GB leanings. I am itching more than ever to remedy this sad state of affairs. Take me in your arms, Babington.

Wow, what an amazing place! I can’t imagine how wonderful it would be to get to stay a week (or two). It looks like a dream.
simply wonderful!
Gah. I want to go there. How gorgeous!
Wanna plan a ladies trip to England?
Ah how charming! Babington is my mum’s family name! I want to go back England way desperately, soon!
Oh my, what a dream!! I’ve never been to the UK either. Hoping to remedy that within the next few years. This looks like absolute perfection. Although when I was looking on the site, it says no photos allowed… I mean, that can’t be right!? I couldn’t resist taking photos there!
Love these photos. Ilse Crawford is an amazing designer. Was lucky enough to stay in the Covent Garden Hotel last time I was in London. Have you seen Kit Kemp’s design work? Photos don’t really do it justice – she creates such a warm and stimulating environment…
That kitchen! Oh my heart. I actually did stay in a place not entiiiiirely dissimilar to this, just a lot less enormous and historical and generally English, over New Years – there was a four poster bed though, and croquet!
I love the English mixed with the ecclecticism – such a cute way to go for a historical property. Thanks for sharing!

Dreamy indeed! I also have an English countryside fixation Jen, and have never been to Europe! How sad, must rectify.
That place looks to die for. What a dream it would be to stay there if even for a night. Hope you can visit someday.
Need to go back to England, asap.
Always,
Mostly Lisa
You have to have been to Sligo if you’ve made Mayo?
It has everything you could want :). I’m so glad you shared this – now all I need is one of my job applications to go through so I can go. ;) I hope you can make it out yourself <3
oh my god, what is this place? it seems like the worlds dreamiest surroundings!
