Dream Outfit: Le Mont Saint-Michel

honey-kennedy-dream-outfit-le-mont-saint-michel

I’ve had Le Mont Saint-Michel, Normandy and Brittany on my mind for several years now. This region is at the top of my travel wishlist and I’m becoming increasingly consumed with thoughts of a nice long stay. I want to drink cider, eat sea salt caramels, stare at the sea, tour Le Mont Saint-Michel and just soak everything in. I don’t know when it will happen, but it will! If you’ve traveled to this area before–I’d love to hear about what you loved!

Here’s a little outfit I put together while daydreaming about visiting Le Mont Saint-Michel. I’m sorry that it’s been such a long time since I made a Dream Outfit! Find more HERE.

DREAM OUTFIT: carnaby hat / tortoise sunglasses / blush elbow-sleeved tee / jeans / spyglass necklace / French cider / stamped leather bag / garden perfume / travel poster / eternal optimist nail polish / wild child lipstick / caramels bretons / leather ballet flats

    Hello Jen,

I’m french and my mom is from Brittany, so here are my advices :
    – The Mont St Michel is super awesome, and you will love it! However, it might be really crowded during tourism season. I only went once there, we arrived at the end of the afternoon and reached the top for sunset. It’s one of the best thing I’ve seen in my life. I recommand to be there at that special time.
    – I do not know a lot of Normandie, but be sure to go to Etretat, so famous for the paintings. It’s a really sweet place.
    – About Brittany : St Malo is really nice, as well as Rennes if you are looking for a “real” city. Otherwise, the Forêt de Brocéliande is well known for all the magic stuff. I highly recommand le Cap de la chèvre, at the very end of Brittany and all the area around Crozon (the little town near le cap de la chèvre). There are great beaches, a few tourists but it’s ok.
What you need to know is that the weather is unpredictable in this area of France. It’s known for its rain, but since the end of june, it has only been sunny ! So you never know. I would advice to go between june and september if you want to enjoy the beaches (which are kinda cold. I went swimming in Portland, ME last year and the temperature of the water was similar to Brittany).
Well, here it is I think !
There’s my mail if you need anything else !
    Good choice anyway :)

I’ve been thinking about Mont St Michel a lot too! I’m about to be spending four beautiful months in the south of France, but I’m hoping to make a trip up to Mont St Michel for sure!

I went here last year! We went to St. Malo/Rennes/Mont Saint-Michel and it was gorgeous. Little beachside towns in the off-season, and so many AMAZING things to photograph at MSM. I agree that this outfit would be perfect for it…love the neutrals interplaying with one another! Perfect against the background of the landscape. :) Hope you get to visit soon!
