Love love love this movie! And I’m always dazzled by the poster – so beautiful!
Yes! It’s a big inspiration for me too, obviously! Ha. So lovely.
I always love your vintage posts – I need to watch this movie!
WATCH IT, MAGGIE!
I love that movie! Right up there in the screwball comedy pantheon with My Man Godfrey, His Girl Friday, and The Lady Eve. When I was in college, someone told I reminded him of Claudette Colbert. I don’t look the tiniest bit like her, but I took it as the highest compliment!
Don’t forget The Thin Man! That’s an AMAZING compliment. A friend told me that I was the shoegaze Myrna Loy and that’s one of the best compliments I’ve received.
Ah, how did I forget The Thin Man?? And yes, Myrna Loy is the best.
I JUST saw this for the first time in August on a trip home. It is in my top 10 all-time-favorite movies.
YAY! Now you need to fall down a rabbit hole of related films. I can help. :D
oh I love this film, I grew up watching it at home with my folks. About time for a re-watch I think. I can’t wait until my kids are old enough to introduce to the classics. We’ve started with Singing in the Rain and it’s drawing them into the Gene Kelly magic!
