Fornasetti: Tema e Variazioni

I love browsing the amazing, iconic Piero Fornasetti Theme & Variations plates from Fornasetti Atelier. The artist was so inspired by the face of 19th century operatic soprano singer, Lina Cavalieri, that he has just kept drawing her visage over and over again–there are more than 350 variations. Now through February 9, he is being celebrated with an exhibit, 100 Years of Practical Madness in Milan at Triennale di Milano Design Museum. The show is curated by his son, Barnaba Fornasetti. I’d love to go and I’d like to have a plate or two. Have a very lovely week! See LOTS more plates HERE.
