Happy Friday! Here are some wonderful things happening around town. Have fun! xo Jen

This Saturday, January 11, come to the very dreamy Firefly Surprise: An Evening of Bridal runway fashion show and super secret surprise birthday party for a beloved local designer at The Cleaners at Ace Hotel. It will be a fun night of celebration and not just for brides-to-be! See beautiful new gowns by local designer and birthday girl, Myra Callan, and hair adornments and veils from Myra’s amazing Twigs & Honey line. Even more fun if you own one of her pretty headpieces that you can wear! The event is free and doors open at 7:30PM. Myra’s sweet husband, Matt, is planning the show and the surprise party to follow and she hates surprise parties, so that should be hilarious. She’s a wonderful lady who has kept her head down and kept working day and night the entire 5 years I’ve known her. Seriously, I don’t think she has slept a wink. She deserves an amazing party! Come have fun! Drinks provided. Snacks provided. Childcare provided. The Cleaners is at 403 SW 10th. MORE INFO.

Looks like there’s a nice new option for denim repair at Self Edge by self-proclaimed selvedge obsessives–”for those that dream of rainbow selvedge and obsess over patina”. They do it right with classic vintage machinery and are offering to replace buttons and zippers, repair holes, fix torn pocket bags, reinforce leather tags, re-chainstitch broken hem lines and even install real iron riveted suspender buttons on your busted denim jeans, jackets and shirts. $40 for each garment or $20 if the item was purchased at Self Edge. Located in Union Way at 1022 W Burnside St. MORE INFO.
