Happy Monday! I didn’t get a chance last week for an update here about our sweet pup, Miss Zelda Fitzpuppy. She’s doing well after she suddenly needed surgery when a little growth on her front leg that I brought up during her annual checkup turned out to be something scary (I still can’t say the “C” word–too hard) after being aspirated and sent to the lab. Needless to say, there was a bit of crying on the floor in the fetal position and last minute reaching out to some heroic blogger buddies to take the HK wheel for a week.
The worst part (for the humans anyways!) was the waiting to find out the lab results from the “aggressive margins” that Zelda’s vet had sent off to the lab. We were nervously bracing ourselves for one of three scenarios: 1. The bad thing was removed entirely and it was all over 2. They weren’t able to get all of the bad thing and they’d need to get the rest with an even more aggressive measure or 3. The bad thing was removed, but it was the extra bad kind that would come back. The wait was long and excruciating, but we got better news than we could have hoped for–the growth was all gone AND it was BENIGN. The word “benign” hadn’t even been on the table. We all did a jig in the dining room for about 20 minutes.
So, I just wanted to give this update and say “thank you” for all your kind words and wishes on my blog, email and across all social media portals. I really did draw strength from all the love coming our way. A BIG thanks to Ilenia (It Can Be A Lover), Anna (Door Sixteen), Lisa (Today Is Going To Be Awesome), Kate (For Me, For You), Kelly (Design Crush) and Sarai (Coletterie) for swooping in and taking the blog reins while I was freaking out and taking care of a drugged terrier. AND thanks to Zelda Fitzpuppy. This scare made it crystal clear how much you mean to us and how much I truly rely on your sweetness each and every day.
