Shop Visit: Boet

Emily Bixler’s Boet jewelry studio can be found here in Portland in the Thurman Street Studios building in the NW 23rd shopping district. Boet’s aesthetic is sculptural in nature and full of contrasts. Hard and soft elements, such as crochet and chain, easily commingle in Emily’s highly modern designs inspired by both a childhood of sailing and hot-air balloons, as well as adornments found in ancient cultures. The result is always stunning and unique. My visit Emily’s studio was both light-filled and moodily shadowed which added extra drama and furthered the contrasts of her beautiful Boet pieces on display.

As you can see, Boet creations easily double as art when not being worn. My personal favorites are the pieces with horsehair tassels which I feel are perfect talismans for anyone born in the Year of the Horse!

Boet is located at 2774 NW Thurman and open by appointment. Studio phone: 503-475-2048. You can also follow Boet on Facebook and @BOETJEWELRY on Instagram.

Yeah!!! Love Boet & Emily and all the amazingness she brings to NW PDX. I totally agree that her pieces double as wall art, which just makes purchasing them easier to justify ;-)
