Shop Visit: Tanner Goods

Another recent newcomer to North Albina, Portland-grown Tanner Goods recently set up a beautiful space to house their sumptuous leather goods alongside menswear from sister line Woodlands and a dedicated shop-in-shop for Mazama Wares. The genial staff compliments the inviting space complete with warm wood details hearkening to the era of mid-century modern to display their offerings in footwear, apparel, accessories, magazines, and even vintage vinyl, with an impeccable eye for detail.

Despite the absence of traditional womenswear, I found myself oohing and ahhing over just about everything in the shop. I also found myself making multiple notes about which items would make great gifts for the fellas in my life. Then there’s the Mazama shop which features an extensive selection of their swoon-worthy ceramics, barware, and stunning glassware. I spent way more time than I needed to examining each style, glaze, and pattern knowing it was time well spent.

Don’t miss The Wayback! Past the gleaming white cinder block walls and through a beaded curtain you’ll find a bar that that is equal parts swanky and homey. Continuing the MCM vibes with just a touch of 70s style to make things really interesting. Artfully arranged seating areas feature multiple sofas, pods of butterfly chairs, and an array of stools all made to feel cozy with plants, a wall-mounted fireplace, and a tv screen that was playing old Scooby Doo cartoons during my visit. There’s even a large tropical-themed patio where a rotating host of guest DJ’s spin rare grooves daily.

Stop by! Tanner Goods is located in Portland at 4719 N Albina and is open daily from 11AM to 8PM. Enjoy Tanner Goods’ guest DJs daily from 5PM to 8PM. Be sure to follow @tannergoods on Instagram and like Tanner Goods on Facebook to keep up on new arrivals, store events, and more fun stuff.
