I’ve been very enamored with the new Tradlands designs for fall (and happy to see some earlier faves still available!). Sadie and Jeremy added knits, like sweatshirts and t-shirts, this season in order to offer more comfy classics that are tailored to fit the female form. I love that the sweatshirts are 100% cotton — which is surprisingly hard to find in a weight that doesn’t make you feel like a stiff marshmallow who is not allowed to have hips. I’m not typically a t-shirt person (caveat for bateau or scoop with stripes), but that Ada tee in black might change my mind because it looks so soft and flattering — even for a larger bust (hi!).
Of course, I’m over the moon about the new array of Tradlands signature button-downs and jackets in organic cotton, flannel, and beautiful plaids. Having the tailoring for your shape and the consideration of extra buttons to eliminate the boob gap issue really does make a huge difference in comfort and confidence. My favorites in the shop right now are The Rory in Black (PERFECT), the Bobbie Oxford in Grey, the grey and gold Aki flannel, the Arapahoe buffalo check, the brushed flannel Otono in a beautiful shade of green, the cozy Althea in heather grey, and the amazing Robyn Jacket in Moss. HAPPY FRIDAY, friends! I hope you have a wonderful, carefree time this weekend! I’ll be making Halloween cookies again this year with my friend Sarai. I’m pretty excited that we seem to have a holiday tradition now. I’m not sure how they’ll turn out, but we’re going to try to get them to be a little more painterly than last year, but they could still turn out looking like they were made by 4 year olds. It’s so much fun — highly recommended silliness! xo Jen

Another recent newcomer to North Albina, Portland-grown Tanner Goods recently set up a beautiful space to house their sumptuous leather goods alongside menswear from sister line Woodlands and a dedicated shop-in-shop for Mazama Wares. The genial staff compliments the inviting space complete with warm wood details hearkening to the era of mid-century modern to display their offerings in footwear, apparel, accessories, magazines, and even vintage vinyl, with an impeccable eye for detail.
Despite the absence of traditional womenswear, I found myself oohing and ahhing over just about everything in the shop. I also found myself making multiple notes about which items would make great gifts for the fellas in my life. Then there’s the Mazama shop which features an extensive selection of their swoon-worthy ceramics, barware, and stunning glassware. I spent way more time than I needed to examining each style, glaze, and pattern knowing it was time well spent.
Don’t miss The Wayback! Past the gleaming white cinder block walls and through a beaded curtain you’ll find a bar that that is equal parts swanky and homey. Continuing the MCM vibes with just a touch of 70s style to make things really interesting. Artfully arranged seating areas feature multiple sofas, pods of butterfly chairs, and an array of stools all made to feel cozy with plants, a wall-mounted fireplace, and a tv screen that was playing old Scooby Doo cartoons during my visit. There’s even a large tropical-themed patio where a rotating host of guest DJ’s spin rare grooves daily.
Stop by! Tanner Goods is located in Portland at 4719 N Albina and is open daily from 11AM to 8PM. Enjoy Tanner Goods’ guest DJs daily from 5PM to 8PM. Be sure to follow @tannergoods on Instagram and like Tanner Goods on Facebook to keep up on new arrivals, store events, and more fun stuff. Also, check The Wayback page for bar hours (Happy Hour!) and menus.
I’ve been loving the selections of Quarry Jewelry by designer Ninh Wysocan that I’ve been finding in a few different shops. I think it’s cool that each of her stockists seems to have a different assortment than the next. I also found the RC x Quarry Collection that Ninh did with Rachel Comey — absolutely lovely! My favorites from Quarry are the Francesca Smooth Hairpin, the amazing Bard Belt, the Cascade Earrings, the mega Alloy Earrings, the Farias Hoops, the Virzi Earrings, the Francesca Earrings, the Ossip Earrings, the Tait Earrings, the Double Opis Cuff, the Laurel Cuff, the Murus Ring, and the Obex Ring. To make it easier to see more about each design, I’ll link all the photos of my faves below. More HERE, HERE, HERE, and HERE. P.S. Portland friends — stop by Una and Stand Up Comedy for lots more!
