Shop Visit: Winter at Flutter

3948 N Mississippi Ave., Portland, OR
Ph: 503-288-1649 E:
Hours: Sun-Wed 11-6 • Thur-Fri 11-7 • Sat 10-7

I stopped by Flutter here in Portland the other day to check out what Cristin and Sara had going on for winter and the holidays. There are lots of tarot decks (SHOP TAROT READINGS: Thursdays from 4PM to 7PM!), gilded wrapping papers, an amazing selection of Magic Hour spell candles (I want Celebration, Abundance, Revolution, and Dream!), fragrances (Etat Libre d’Orange!), stacks of great books, a wall of ribbon, cards, apothecary goodies, vintage clothing, classic toys and games for kids, yummy candies, and a million other wonders.

Another super exciting addition to the shop is a cache of gorgeous vintage textiles. The ladies are working with Kathy Brock from Little Green Pagoda to bring in mountains of one of a kind rugs, throws, wall hangings, pillows, and revitalized distressed vintage silk robes and jackets. Everything looks so beautiful and colorful in stacks around the shop, under foot, and hanging from the walls. All wonderful kilim and suzani gifts for your own home, other textile lovers in your life — total treasures!

You can stop by Flutter in person or if you see something in my photos below or at Flutter on Instagram that isn’t in their online shop, feel free to call or email the shop for more information and to buy and have it shipped out to you! Call: 503-288-1649 or Email: And, as always, say “hello” to King the shop kitty when you arrive! ♥

Shop Visit is a Honey Kennedy series about shops and studios found in Portland and beyond. Photos and words by Jen McCabe.

Hi, friends! How are you holding up? It’s such a joy to be out and about and see and experience the smiling faces and kindness from Portland shops, designers, baristas, and waitstaff. This time of year can be stressful and adding to it in leaps and bounds is our country’s political crisis. I encourage you all to get out there in our community and resist corporate greed by frequenting our city’s phenomenal small businesses. It is good for the heart and our community to remind each other that we have each other’s backs. It feels like a break and it feels therapeutic AND it’s still fighting the good fight against the powers that be. Plus, a lot of these events have wine. Love to you! xo Jen
